PostSubject: Spare drive shaft parts?   Sat Dec 22, 2012 9:16 pm

I'm missing one little old needle roller out of one of the balls on the ball & trunnion end of my 57 Plymouth driveshaft. Would anyone have an extra laying around? It's .062" in dia. and .655" long.

Thanks for your time...
Bob

PM either Jim Rawa or Jeff Nichols. Both guys are close and may have that needle Bob.

Thanks Joe...I hadn't thought about them. I'll give it a try.

Cool Bob

Dilemma solved thanks to Big M. When he saw this thread he offered to send me the needle roller I needed. I received two of them in the mail from John today. Now I can get my Belvedere back together. Hopefully this is the reason I was getting a vibration on take off.
To all that read this: John Fowlie of Big M Auto Parts is one great guy that is truly here for you and all your classic car/part needs.

A big thank you to you John...I appreciate you,
NY Bob

PostSubject: 57 Plymouth rear u-joint   Sun May 05, 2013 6:59 pm

I've still got a terrible vibration on acceleration at ~25-30 mph after greasing all 4 cups in the rear cross u-joint. While I was in there, I did see some wear marks on the pins but all 4 caps turn very nicely without any stiffness whatsoever. Vibraton is worse now that I took u-joint apart and greased it. I'm reluctant to buy a new $100 u-joint as I'm not sure this will fix it. I wouldn't have a problem if they were the normal $30 replacement u-joint that most cars have. Does anyone here have a good used rear u-joint sitting around that they would be willing to sell/ship?
