Joe I have done buisiness with Andy Birnbaun several years ago. He is a good buisinessman and has lots of stuff. He is a square dealer. I would recomend him.

But as far as I know all the window rubbers are cut off from a roll to length. Then you have to butt them together and glue them. You can't get a new rubber now that is not split. Better to find a nice old pliable used rubber if you can. I would check with Big M ,John Fowlie and see if he has any good used one. You probly already know this but just in case. Smile

Mopar Joe,

I bought these from Andy's and I couldn't see how it was going to work. so I bought original second hand ones which were a lot more $$ but fit perfect
if you want this style from Andy's you can have mine , front and back for $ 100 plus postage - They are cut off the roll and they have to be joined.
you could probably make it work, I just didn't have the time in the end to stuff around

Both Sedans and Hdtps are the same rubber. Now I don't know if a 4dr will work or not. I have a sedan seal in my Hdtp , If I can remember right it was even a 57 :Idaho Bob:

no probs mate. Once the car is all finished I will probably go thru all the stuff I don't need and sell it off.
the rubbers are nice I just couldn't get my head around it. I guess that is the only option if you don't find good s/hand ones. that would be the way to go

my old ones I left in transmission oil to soften up. but didn't realise leaving them in there for 12mnths, they swell up beyond use.
maybe should have been only 2 weeks Shocked

Hey Tim, I did the same thing with my rear screen rubber I bought from John. I left mine in trans oil for three weeks and it swelled. After I cleaned off the excess oil I put the rubber on the shed roof to dry it outhoping it would shrink back. It didn't. So I put the corners in the apeture and cut the excess and glued it all together and the rubber was still soft and pliable. Hasn't ever leaked water and the glass fit real good.

Ah nice one, didn't think of that, the corners are the bits you need
could probably do the same with old rubbers that the rest is no good but the corners you could use
Good idea

Hey Joe talk to John Big M, I think he has them stored away as he keeps the ones that look good.

Our Plymouth need lots of that caulking mastic under the chrome mould. The book tells you to fill up the grove before appliing the chrome window trims, then it oozes out everywhere and its a bugger to clean up but seals great.

Yes Charlie...I've been caught in the rain once or twice and have noticed that water does make it around the rubber seal on my windshield on the driver side. Not a lot though...never had any on the rug that I could feel anyways...Can the modern urethane be used in place of the rubber seals or does the trim installation depend on the rubber seals? It would be good to know just in case I decide to get it properly sealed up some day. For now though, it's not an issue as all my old cars never get driven in the rain. That kills any idea of any long trip with them though.

The front seal could be Urethane I guess as the trim does not fit into the seal at all. just butts up so you would need a lot of it to build it up
The Rear needs the seal. has a lip the stainless fits into. which its the top and sides, the bottom using clips. so your buggered.
