I know whom I have believed. 2 Timothy 1:12

Does Christianity work? Does anything really happen when a person repents of sin and receives Christ by faith?
I can tell you that it worked in my own life. I was raised in the 60's and 70's in a middle class home in upstate NY. My parents gave me the advantages of what most young people enjoy today. I grew up attending Catholic school and went to church every Sunday. By the time I was 16, I was in revolt against God and religion. I decided I was going to live life by my own rules and over the next 20 years sin and all its temporary pleasures nearly killed me. .
All of a sudden one night I remembered the God of my youth. I felt the urgent need to repent and commit my life to Jesus Christ right in my own livingroom on my knees. He immediately gave me a whole new direction and my life turned around. All of a sudden the old destructive habits weren't ruling me any more. My attitude toward others completely changed. I now cared about their souls. I began to seek God's will instead of my own. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Now...I certainly did not become perfect, but my life had become new. Throughout my last 16 years I have continued to grow closer to Jesus and I have never met another believer who regretted giving their life to Christ. Neither will you and the peace of knowing your Creator with the promise of spending eternal life in heaven with Him will be yours.

Prayer: Dear Lord...I know I have sinned and I'm sorry. I believe Jesus died for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead. I want to turn away from my sins and receive Jesus as my Savior. I confess Him as my Lord and from now on, I want to follow Him in the fellowship of His believers. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
