Yes they are an o-ring goes on the adapter that goes into the tranny, I have alkways called it an o ring. I hate the cable shifers because most of them leak, My wife Eva has a 65 Plymouth , it has a cable colum shift. The cable leaks on it but it is in the housing itself. Smile

Now have you ever took your cable out of the tranny , It is sort of a trick in itself if you have never done it. Smile

The o ring is easy to replace......just slides on the shaft that enters the tranny. Not sure of the exact size but its written in the manual , I'll check it out and get back to ya!

The local parts store should have an o-ring that will work. Sometimes the leak is from the covering on the cable itself, if so, RTV silicon will work to seal it up.
