PostSubject: Redsleds Test Drive With New engine   Fri Mar 29, 2013 12:42 pm

As most of you know I built a New engine for Redsled this year. Ported and Polished the Heads Roller Rockers and a few Mods. Was going to take my Manuel 7 blade fan of and put on an electric , I have not done that yet, It would probly give me another 15 hp or so, Same as if I would take my power steering off But got to have that.
Well I drove to Caldwell about 7 miles and picked up My friend Dennis Booth, He is the one in my HeapHerders car club that has the Beautiful Olds Holiday coupe with the flames on it that Charley Hutton Painted.
He is a Barber and he took an extended luhnch, he is his own boss.
We went to Ontario Oregon for Lunch it is about 35 Miles each way. Had a great lunch and I took him back to his shop.
On the way back I stopped at the Terrace Drive Inn Theater, and took this Picture. I have been going to this Theater Since 1958 right after I got my Drivers License, Yep that was a long time ago LOL'

I put close to 100 miles on her, ran great never fully got on her yet but seems like lots of power, 40 lbs oil pressure Idling and 70 lbs going down the road, Never run over 170 Never leaked one drop of oil, That is a blessing.
Will be taking her out April 13 for test and Tune, that is the same time They have the big Spring Swap meet at FireBird Raceway.

For some reason I couldn't add this to my other post :Idaho Bob:

That's great news, Bobby!!
Do you have some break-in miles to run, or is all good to go now?

No I would not have to have any John she is ready to run as soon as I fire her up, But I do like to Put abut 100 miles on her and then change the oi and filter again.

After first start I run engine maybe not all at onced but for about an hour. Then I change the oil and filter. Then put about 100 miles on her and change the oil and filter again. They are always solme little foreign objects in a newly rebilt engine. Just something zI have always done. Quite an expence for changng oil and filter anymore when you are putting in 9 quarts. But very cheap compared to other things'

Even in all my daily drivers I change Oil every 2000 miles. Very Happy

Great news bobby. The pic looks great in front of the theater. It is such a great feeling not to have any issues after installing the Motor and Trans. I hope you run real well at the track.

Only thing that would make her look any better would be if she was in my shed

Don't go getting any tickets there lead foot. I know you are going to be tempted to torch her off.

Great news Bob. You may run Redsled hard but you make sure she is up to it. Plus you keep her looking like the star she is. You have one fantastic car. :Idaho Bob: I'm a fan. Cool

You know it is awful hard not to do it Jim, When I left the Drive Inn I was going to do a little burn and looked across the road and there was a Policecar, glad i noticed it because I would have had a ticket. Tickets arn't cheap anymore and I would have to call you to bail me out. :Idaho Bob: I am a lead foot in any car I drive I will take off and look back and here the cars will be way back. Hee! Hee! But I don't break the tires or exceed the speed limit. Very Happy

Thanks Jag I will be finding out probly Sunday how she runs, It is sure great to be able to hop in her and go when I want to again. When I had my exhaust redone Jimmy turned my pipes down a little and when it hits dust you know where it goes. Now that they are working on my main road by my house, It is nothing but dust and I can just drive over it and the whole back of the car is dusty again Swearing
