PostSubject: A Certain Hope   Sat Apr 20, 2013 1:41 pm

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord. Jeremiah 17:7

One of the great hymns of the church, "The Solid Rock" by Edward Mote and William Bradbury, begins, "My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ the solid Rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand"....
On what is your hope built? You may hope for a raise in pay at work. You may hope that you win the biggest trophy at the car show. You may even hope you win the lottery. Such hopes are based on things which we have little control: A favorable view of our work by the boss. The "right" judges at the car show. Our lottery numbers being drawn among thousands of others.
But all these "hopes" fade into such insignificance when compared with the greatest hope of all--our hope of salvation in Christ. And that hope is an absolute certainty, because it is based not on ourselves or our good works, but squarely on "Jesus' blood and righteousness". This hope certainly deserves some thought...have you given it any?

Dear Lord...Please draw me closer to You in light of this wonderful hope You have given me. In Jesus" Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

When I pray I give thanks for my family, friend's and things I have already been blessed with. I also pray for others health and safety but never materiel things. But that's just my way.
