PostSubject: Need help on a new build   Wed May 29, 2013 9:09 pm

Hello All,

I am new to the club and while I don't have a Christine yet it has always been a dream for me and now I am able to afford one. My problem is I'm about as good with tools as I am at flying with out a machine. So my question is who would be the best restoration shop to go to for a Christine. I do have a couple of TV/Movie cars in my collection. I have a 1989 Batmobile and a General Lee. Both of those cars have a huge following and several builders who specialize in those models. But for a Christine I guess I could go to any classic car restorer but I know Christine isn't a simple build and I'd like it to be as close to the movie car as I can get. So if anyone knows of a builder who has done it before or used one I would very much appreciate a point in the right direction.

Thanks for you help and love the site.

Two things too remember....

How high is your budget?

There are not many Folk's that can be trusted in our Christine hobby. Be very careful of anyone either on this board or any others that ask for big down payments or tell you they know these cars because most likely they do not. Anyone you have in mind please ask the club first regarding their reputation as we know most.

Please remember these cars are hard to find parts as well as restore on a small budget unless you have the ability to handle a good amount of the resto like some of our great members here.

Good luck,
Joe

I'd be happy to discuss building you a Christine. I am currently building my personal car and built a 4 door book clone awhile back for a CCC member. Here's my "portfolio"... Smile

The folks Wayne built that car for are from upstate N.Y. They live in the home area I am from so I visited them last summer. Great folks and they showed me the car and let me drive it. I have a 2 dr HT and I could not believe what a great job Wayne did on this 4 door car. It made a big enough impression on me that I went out and bought a four door also. Wayne did just a sper job on this car and made sure it was done right not all filled in with bondo and slap on some paint. If I was not building my own car Wayne would be my first choice to do one for me.
