Hey guys, as some of you know I have been on a hunt for a 58 hardtop. Well this isn't a 58 or a Plymouth it is still a very solid original car and I couldn't stand to pass it by. I am actually going to pick it up tomorrow and bring it home and see if I can get it to run and go from there. Just thought I would share. Its a 59 Dodge Coronet!

You would have to most likely ask your local DMV Office of what is required. I would make sure to get a notarized bill of sale from seller as well as make sure the VIN tag is currently mounted on the door jam.

Those 2 things are status quo when it comes to no paperwork.

Good luck.

VERY nice! AND, a four door hardtop to boot! '59 Dodges are very desireable. Looks like either aftermarket A/C or a dealer installed unit [York compressor].

This is the '59 I found that had been parked for years, I repaired some issues with it and gave it to my wife.

Beautiful Car John! I got the 59 home yesterday and I gotta say that was the easiest load and unload I have ever done. The brakes weren't locked up! The A/C I believe to be aftermarket unless you all can tell me.. Its a Montgomery Ward unit bolted under the dash and I have not looked at the compressor too closely yet. I did get a bill of sale for the car as well as 2 coral color rust free fenders and Nos tail lights. I need to find a good place to buy floor pans, rockers quarters and trunk pan. And the the passenger rear door has a pretty good crease in it so I may need to find a replacement. I happen to have a nice set of upholstered seats out of a 58 Plymouth sedan that I think would fit nicely in the car. BIG QUESTION!! The motor is Locked up. What Remedies Work or what should I try to unlock this 326 motor?!? I would really like to save it and run it. Annnnd Would a poly 318 dual quad intake fit this block?

Marvel mystery oil!!! Take the plugs out and 2 quick squirts of this oil into the spark plug holes. Let it sit for a couple weeks and allow it to coat the rings and walls. I would then try turning the engine, plugs out, by hand to free motor.

I will try that. I have heard everything from Kerosene to Brake fluid.. I guess worst case scenario I pull the motor and rebuild it given the internals are in good shape. Are there any 59 Dodge Owners here that have parts and would like to maybe point me in a direction to find parts in the Midwest area. I don't have much knowledge of these cars.

I like the sound of Marvel oil over brake fluid and kerosene. Thanks guys I will go buy a couple quarts. Its better then shooting WD-40 or PB blaster that stuff gets expensive.

The very best penetrant you can get is homemade, and relatively inexpensive. A 50/ 50 mix of acetone and auto trans fluid is proven to break rusty parts loose the best. I do have a '59 Coronet I bought that has a rebuilt [with low miles] 326 and Powerflite if yours turns out to be shot.

The shipping cost on a Palletized engine will be roughly $300. I would have to call for a quote to get the current price though.

I may have some body panels, but for certain no lower quarters that are good. Also, my cars are all missing the little elbows on the fins.
