The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Romans 8:16

The scripture above is a wonderful reminder of the assurance I have that God is real. Even though I can't see Him or touch Him, I know He's inside me. This began a little over 17 years ago, the day I invited Jesus Christ into my heart and asked Him to forgive me of my sins.

It also reminds me of when I was a little boy out flying a kite. It was a fine Spring day for kite flying, the wind was brisk and the large billowy clouds were flying low across the sky. The kite went up and up until it was out of site. It was entirely hidden by one of the passing clouds. One of my friends came by and saw me holding the roll of string. As he looked up in the clouds he said "where is your kite? It's gone...you've lost it"! I said quickly "No I haven't, I know it's still there because I can still feel it's tug on the string!"

Oh how that tug of the kite reminds me of how God tugs on my heart for so many things now that I'm His child. But don't take my word or anyone else's word about God. I am only here to tell you my testimony in the hope that you too will find Him for yourself...by inviting Jesus Christ to come into your life.

Insight: Then you too, will know by the wonderful warm tug on your heartstrings that He is there for sure.

Dear Lord, I want to feel Your wonderful warm tug in my heart. I want to be your child. Help me to feel the need to ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins and to come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
