PostSubject: Want to purchase Christine clone   Mon Feb 17, 2014 12:52 am

Hi, I'm new here to CCC. I've recently been trying to locate a Christine clone. I don't have the mechanical skills or the time to build one. I would also like to thank this site for steering my away from Mopar Mel. When I was looking on the internet on where I could possibly buy a "Christine," his site came up. After doing my homework, I'm glad I found this forum. Also, I did see a website "volocars." where they claim to have one of the original Christine's from the movie, car #14 for $168k. Is that website/car legit? Anyways, any help to me finding my dream car is appreciated. Thank You.

Welcome astroman. Some claim to have debunked the volo car. Several alleged inconsistencies have been brought up before but I have never seen the documentation as to how they claim its authenticity. Like anything else buyer beware.

Occasionally unfinished project cars and cars needing full restoration do pop up. The "finished" cars typically wind up on ebay. Your success as to buying the right car come with knowledge, help from the club and the financial means necessary to follow through. You can also speak to a reputable and experienced builder about building you one. This is the more expensive route but in the end you have a fresh resto and know exactly what your getting! Best of luck and welcome to the club! Smile

Back in about 1985 a classic car dealer in Wisconsin I believe, advertised what was said to be an original screen used Christine in Hemmings Motor News. Car was said to be the intact car, the one used for the drive scenes, and came with I Believe a Columbia Pictures COA. Does anyone know if that intact car exists?

I remember seeing an ad in 1988. Also in Hemmings. I remember it read.. "THIS IS CHRISTINE". No idea what became of it or if it was the real deal.

Yeah, baby! Now THATS funny! .....true .... But funny!

I thought we pretty much knew where all the screen-used cars ended up? I bet you could pretty much get at least a quarter mil for one of the two "pristine Christines" that were left after the filming. Heck, maybe even more than that....

That's a very good post Chris... Laughing

Welcome to the club astroman!! Keep your eyes open...They come up for sale from time to time. You won't need a million dollars but you'll most likely need $25-35k and up for a decent ride...$15-25k for a handyman's special...$5-15k for a basket case...and you'll have to act very quickly when that time comes! You came to the right place if you're serious about finding one. Good to have you here with us.

Bob
