Hi guys.
I'm still around but haven't logged in for months.

My Chirstine has been laid up all winter, I'm sorting a few items out having driven her last summer and discovering a few worrying issues.

Last year my car was the cover feature in the UK's Classic American Car magazine.
This is Europe's premier Mag' about American cars.

I ensure they gave a shout and a thanks to the CCC's members as well as others that have helped me along the long trek to me finally getting my dream car.

I thought you'd like to see:

Cheers Bob.

Been a busy time, what with helping on other forums, an 18 month old daughter (she's into everything!), working weekends and overhauling my Christine's brakes (they failed last summer when my 6 year old son was riding in the rear with me!) I'm up to my eyes in it at the moment.

I contact the editor years ago with some shots of my car when she went up in flames, they printed them and I got to know the editors quite well through email.

They were eager to know more.

I saw an article telling the history of this car, quite an impressive transformation given it was almost destroyed.
Here's the car as it started.

Here it is after being pulled out of the fire.

I've seen the pic of the fire before but not the first one. Pretty nice. Do you have the write up?

Here is the link to the article.                                                                                                      http://carburetor-manual.com/1957-plymouth-belvedere-a-49.html
At the bottom there is a link to photobucket with many more photos.

That car, was one of the most solid ones I have found in the last fifteen years. I'm glad it went to a good guy like Lee.

I bought it from a yard in Fairfield, Ca. They would not sell me the whole car, so I bought it piece by piece and reassembled it here.

I've run into that situation too where some yards don't want to sell a whole car, is it because of some sort of liability issue?

It's usually because the police towed the car, or was part of a property abatement here. Sometimes, it's just the yard owner's policy.

That's crazy! Cool car, though. Well, that's California, I guess. You have crazy and cool all blended together.

Baptized in fire. What a hell of a way to give birth to Christine! LOL. How do I get ahold of the guy who built it? Does he have a waiting list?
