PostSubject: AN AMAZING LOVE   Wed May 14, 2014 8:43 pm

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Romans 5:8 is a perfect example of God’s amazing love for us. God’s love, far deeper than any human love can ever be, comes with absolute purity. He abhors sin. He must punish and destroy it because His very nature comes against sin with holy fury. But His love is so great that even while I was still a sinner He loved me.

In the depths of my heart I ask, “God, why did You let your Son, Jesus suffer so much and die such a cruel death for me on the Cross at Calvary?” And I seem to hear Him reply, "Because I want you close to Me, and it was the only way.”

In 1 John 4:10 we read, “We see real love, not that we loved God, but in the fact God loved us and sent His Son to make personal atonement for our sins.” What a gift of love! Our need was desperate and God offered us the gift of His Son, Jesus for what we did not deserve...our salvation.

Insight: If you are following Christ...thanking God for your salvation should be a daily exercise. It's good for the heart! If you haven't yet trusted Christ for your it says in 2 Corinthians 6:2, ...Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Dear God, Thank you for loving me even though I am a sinner. Help me to realize and appreciate Your amazing love. By faith, I want to receive Your free gift of salvation through Jesus' death on the Cross. And as a true follower of Christ, I want to be a grateful Christian for this priceless gift. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
