| I had a `73 Firebird in a similar condition. After a while I gave up and stripped it for the few good parts it had. Good luck! _________________ I am pure hell. I am Christine.

| Looking forward to the progress pics, Chaney.
In 1981, my father bought a '76 Camaro at a cheap price from a Wayne, Michigan used car dealer. It looked pretty good from ten feet away, but heavy sanding marks were visible beneath the bright yellow paint, signs of a quicky paint job.
My sister, who was in her twenties at the time used the car to drive back and forth to work. The Michigan road salt did not take much time to undo all the car dealer's chintzy repair work, soon chunks of plastic filler were coming apart all over. The car ran well, but my father would not drive it any longer as it was very ugly, and the door skins would actually flap as the car was driven at highway speed. I was riding with her when I was back in Michigan, and the battery fell through the inner fender, and the tire destroyed it. I believe that was the end of that Camaro!

| Got the rearend checked out tonight. Literally, Just got home. It's 12:00 Midnight here, and rear checked out ok, but Wayne, I don't think your gonna need that 700R4 overdrive afterall. Found a wopping set of "Airplane" gears under that thing. No wonder it was a pig back in 1973. Geesh, 2.73 Gears. With an overdrive I think the engine would just stall out when it shifted in overdrive. I think I'm gonna stick with the original Turbo 350 Trans (3-speed) as you should be able to cruise nicely with those gears. All new brakes, Wheels Cyl., Hardware kit, Free'd up the self adjusters, All new Axle seals, and filled with 80/90 Gear oil. Finally finished blocking the right rear quarter panel tonight. Came out well. |

| Thanks guys, Wayne has been VERY patient throughout this ordeal and I just wanna try and get-r-done for him soon. It's not easy to be patient while someone else is working on your baby, it's even harder to spend 3-5 years working on your Baby, so i know what he's going through. You guys would be amazed at how the simplest replies can make a big difference in a thread when the owner reads them. Makes one think they are NOT insane for tackling such a project afterall. Sometimes, that's all one has while the building phase is going on...I thank you for that fellas. Now, enough touchy/feely stuff, onward to progress...Wayne, check it out bro. |

| Great work, what kind of primer are you using, Chaney? _________________ ^ Caution! Bad English, hardly even makes sense sometimes. Actually, it's spray bomb paint to protect it until I paint it. Afterall, I'm just gonna sand it all off anyway. |

| One heck of a lot of good progress on the 'Maro, Chaney!
Soon your cousin will have an all-metal car, rather than one composed of FE O2 [Iron oxide]

| Folks, Just a little note here about good business and good people. I was in need of good rear seat frames. ALL of Wayne's were rusted to hell. We (Wayne and I), exhausted all possibilities here and surrounding areas. Nothing was out there. This is when it dawned on me... John! I called John late one evening about searching for the rear seat (Three pieces) for this Camaro. john informed me he'd try and in his words "Find me a good set". I figured what have we got to lose at this point. John at Big M Emails me pics of some seat pieces and I call him. He tells me these are in "Good Shape". I looked at the pics and they looked good. I told John to put my name on 'em and I'd get him paid ASAP. John told me "I'll send 'em on out to 'ya"... They arrived today. I opened the box and Was surprized to say the least. As you can see, John at Big M Auto pulled it off for me again. Just wanna say that if your looking not only for '57-'58 Plymouth Parts, John can find just about anything. John, Thanks again Bro. Wayne's Original Back seat frame. Big M Auto parts Frame.... |
