I know it's a bit off topic for the Christine purist, but how cool is this? I think if my stock 301/318 was shot, I'd consider a little bitty crate 440 like this one. Should bolt right up to the 727 torqueflite, right?

If I eventually go with a later model Chrysler (61/62) instead of a 57/58 Plymouth, this engine is a must have. Not gonna mess around with an old 361. What do you think?

IMO Joe sport tone that is the way I'm going with whatever 58 I build. A 100 percent correct 58 build is not in my budget. These motors are all over in mobile homes waiting to be plucked most with low miles. I just makes sense to me.

I think you are right, Benny. Those old motor homes just sit and waste away in folk's yards and the engines are never run. I heard that they mate up nicely to earlier version Mopars, too. Hopefully someone here has some experience with them.

My buddy did it lol. Can't remember the mopar? A satelite maybe? But, anyway he bought a motorhome all rotted out for $1200 bucks cut the motor and trans out and scrapped the body for $500 lol. Now thats a muscle car bargain lol. that is the way I'm thinking of going.

If I was to find a 57 or 58 with out a motor. I think I would put a more modern type engine in it. There much easier to find and to do whatever with it. What im confused about is do more modern type motors bolt right in? (later sixties early seventies) Or is there a lot of modification required? That motor does sound awesome though. Im thinking its a relative of Christine. lol..Strong and Mean!!

You guys rock. I wish I were that mechanically knowledgable. An old dummy like me needs something that will bolt right up to the existing transmission. I bet that Viper will really sing!

If it wasn't such a sin a ls motor would really scream in one of these Plymouth's and they make everything for them. But, Mopar must have Mopar. Mopar or no car. lol.
