PostSubject: halloween with my 58   Sat Nov 01, 2014 8:42 pm

I was convinced by several friends and family to use my car as a prop for Halloween. I got a coat of satin colonial red paint on it with the help of my brother. In hind sight im glad i did it. I couldn't tell if the stuff on it was primer or paint or...black shoe polish; at any rate, I feel better that it has more protection now. I had to go to all 5 stores in town to find the right color lol.

I picked up a small remote controlled fog machine. Of course, no one sold fog liquid so i had to make some. Its distilled water and glycerine 70-30. Glycerine was found near the poison ivy and anti-itch creams.

The car is gutted so I sat a laptop on the floor with a green screen shining upwards towards the back of the car. I also hooked up a powered computer speaker system and played little bitty pretty one on loop. We have a animated skeleton-pirate that flew off the porch one year with a gust of wind and broke. After I removed his pirate hat and rewired his LED  eyes I set him behind the steering wheel.

I attached the grill and scotch taped the 4 door trim on the sides (its dark, who is gonna see it? lol) The passenger head light assembly wasn't on the car when i got it; the holes have not been drilled in the homemade head light panel. I took some magnets from a broken harddrive and used them to stick the headlight assembly to the metal. It's VERY stuck on, I might have troubles getting it off...

TL:DR with pictures!

Thank you, I hoped everyone would like it. I did it mostly for the adults who were out with their kids trick or treating. I really didn't expect any of the children to get the reference but surprisingly there were a few. There was a couple families that asked if they could take pictures and that felt good. Another great moment was when one of the adults walking up to my house stopped and said "Is that you Cunningham? You ain't mad are ya?...guess not"

That's cool! A few years back when I had the derelict '58 2 door wagon between the houses; I put a red light behind the grille for Halloween with a big green glow in the dark bowl of candy on the hood and the eerie Christine sound track playing. The kids were so scared they wouldn't go up and grab the candy! Marc.

Thats really cool. My kids were bugging me to do a Christine themed Halloween project this year. After seeing yours I think we'll give it a try next year!

Shoot...My computer doesn't have what it takes to play the video...From the photos though, looks like you really did one heck of a job. I would have loved to be there in person to see this. You obviously are very creative and have a lot of "drive" to follow through. Great job Sheb!
