She's unscrewed from the base now and on a shelf over my desk (my "mantel").

I have a 1:18 Christine now with working headlights, the Auto World (they took over Ertl) daytime one. (Just what I wanted, not the one with the blacked-out stunt-car windows.)

Serge...I have one similar to your 1:18 Fury...from one of the mints...Danbury, Franklin?...same buckskin beige 58 Fury with Skirts...but I think mine is smaller. I get all the scales mixed up. Is 1:18 the largest out there? Perhaps mine is 1:24 Smile Very nice my friend. Thanks for posting the photos...

What's everyone's thoughts on the skirts? I like both with and without. Skirts give that "lead sled" look....that massive, heavy, cruiser look. No skirts give the more sporty, fast and furious look. (Christine getting air crashing through the fence to get Moochie)

Bob

I think the biggest scale diecast I've seen is 1:12 (a '58 or '59 Corvette, at a flea market for $100); there are also 1:10 radio-controlled toys. I know the Furys you mean. Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint diecasts are 1:24; smaller. That's what you have. I have four 1:18s (including Christine) and three 1:24s on display, with only one car per display space (shelf, etc.). A few besides Christine are movie-related: the 1:24 1949 Mercury looks like James Dean's in Rebel Without a Cause (I took it apart and painted the interior to match); and someone gave me a 1:18 of Ronny Howard's '58 Impala from American Graffiti (I also have on display a teal and white stock one, a souvenir from the Wildwood, NJ fall classic-car show). My 1:18 '61 Impala is black with a red and white interior, a lot like a car that appeared on "Crime Story." Beyond those, I have a 1:24 black '48 Chevy Fleetline Aerosedan, a quintessential beautiful '40s design, and a 1:24 yellow and white '60 Impala (from toymaker Jada; all my 1:24s on display are inexpensive toys). The 1:18s are wonderfully made.

Generally I love skirts but Christine doesn't have them, and that's fine.
