Thanks Brian! I do have power to the lights but something happened to the flasher so now only one side is working, I'll have to fiddle with it in the spring. Right now the bell is for looks, it works but it's LOUD and I don't think the neighbors would appreciate it so much. Mad One guy suggested I should have it ring every time the neighbors annoying dogs start barking. Very Happy

Chris that is one cool crossing.. To be honest I may have to look for one like that! ha ha. I didn't realize that you had the electrified type. Lights and bell. Did you get that at an auction or flea market...or just steal it? ha ha lol.

Thanks B! I got this one off ebay form a guy in Wisconsin. He has a ton of this stuff. This actually isn't the style I originally wanted, I wanted one with the rotating stop sign but figured I would never find one because of their rarity. Well a year later I found a pair of the type I wanted so I'm debating about selling this one.

I would've put it by the street but I'm afraid it would get damaged by vandals. Plus the city might of frowned on that idea.

I have two signals like that, one was missing the sign parts and the other had a broken base. I was going to make one good one from the two but then I found the missing parts to complete the pair. The one sign has the marbles but the other is the plain red stop sign.

All but the bell, the mount is really hard to come by. Smile The lights are hanging in the rafters at the moment.

I have never seen a railroad crossing with the spinning stop sign before in my life. I have traveled up and down the east coast through very old small towns. Ones without traffic lights even. These are very cool. I love the vintage yellow stop sign

Joe, these were very common in the midwest for decades. They were made by a company based in Minnesota called Griswold signal, sadly they've really disappeared from the landscape as everything is upgraded. I'm glad I can preserve a bit of railroad history, and I agree that the yellow stop signs are neat!

Very very cool Chris. Beautiful job on decorating your home. We scaled back a bit this year...but I'll have to get out there tonight and take a photo of our decor. I've always enjoyed Railroading...model railroading in my basement and the real thing down at the train tracks. I really like your railroad crossing sign and how you have it displayed...and I really like the idea of the bell going off at anything annoying from the neighbors...especially barking dogs. Wink Drown it all right out! Laughing

I had a co-worker that had a train horn...as in air horn that virtually would scare you out of your own skin if you didn't see it coming...talk about laugh!

Hee! Hee! Bob
