Thanks Carlos! Smile  I honestly am very pleased with this car. Its the first car I have ever found that wasn't worse then what was expected. In fact it was much much cleaner..I was all teeth! Very Happy  But now with spring here I will be able to start and make some head way.

Cheers my friend!

Brian.

In storage since 1973... fitting since that's when I remember the last echoes of the '50s fading away.

We're bringing it back.

Lets hope I can change that! Wink

I know, right? How can he move out with any task related to this restoration before first letting us "experts" assess what he has and help him determine the best way ahead! Laughing

Okay, okay, I just want to see pics too.

No worries pictures will come! Smile  Im going to start on the body work first. But im going to go panel by panel. I think that's the best course just so I don't get ahead of myself. But I am going to have help from a few friends that do a lot of body work. They are very eager to start..My friend wants me to bring it to his shop but I was a little bit against that because they will get on it like heck on wheels!! But if I did bring it there it would get done much faster. So I have a dilemma already. lol.
My other dilemma is what motor to put in the car. I have it down to a 318 or a 383. I want a cruiser not a gas hungry dragster! What do you guys think? What size would you go with? Im looking for something that is more bolt in and go! Would love to hear what you all think!

Cheerio! Very Happy

Personally, if you want a cruiser, I'd stick with a 318 poly. Some folks have gotten as good as 23 MPG and you still have ample power for todays traffic situations.

You KNOW I am going to have an opinion in this one!  Laughing Hopefully some of these guys can help a bit with the technical details.... But.... I'd stick with whatever it came with (unless it was a straight 6 - sorry Chris). Reasoning is that anything else will require quite a bit of work just to fit and align a different engine. 318s and 383s can be good on gas. It's all in how you run 'em. I had a 1966 dodge C body equipped with a factory 383. With the old two barrel it had good power and ran whisper quiet with decent mileage.

But if it where me and I had to modify that sweet 57 of yours, I'd go with a 440 crate engine. Have I ever mentioned that I am a fan?

Just sayin'.....
Very Happy
