But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2: 10-12

You see, God came down from heaven to the earth in the form of the little baby Jesus just to be our Savior. He came to save us from our sins! Jesus was God, manifest in the flesh. Just think and try to imagine this...when Mary kissed her baby, she was kissing the face of God! Has this fact ever really touched your heart?

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10: 9-10

I often ask people this question. "Have you been saved?" Here's one of the more interesting answers I've received. "Yes, I was in a terrible car accident once and should have been killed. This guy came out of nowhere just in time to pull me from my wrecked car...right before it caught fire and blew up! He saved me from being burned alive!" My immediate response was this. "Don't ever confuse God's mercies with God's salvation!" You see...God had mercy on this person and put someone directly in his path to pull him from certain death but that doesn't mean he was saved from eternal damnation.

Insight: Some people realize Jesus was the Savior but haven't yet made a decision for Him to be their own personal Savior. I ask you on this Christmas day, have you received the greatest gift man has ever been given? But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. Have you admitted you're a sinner and received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?

Dear God, I want to take this message seriously and make sure that I make this personal decision to receive Jesus as my Savior. Thank you God for loving me so much and sending Jesus to die for me and my sins. I admit I have sinned against You and now receive Jesus by faith as my Savior. I want to follow Him now for the rest the days You give me. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
