Yeah I'm nutz! This thing just speaks to me. It's for sale near CCC members Chris aka 57belv and Brian aka Devilsride. They've been kind enough to offer to pick up for me until shipping arrangements can be made. Any ideas on adding some color for more of a 50's look?

Looks like I'm gonna pass on it. It's missing several key internal components. Sad I was considering just restoring cosmetically for the time being and wiring in a hidden iphone dock but without those original parts it could never be made to function as originally intended. Sad

What was the seller wanting for it? If it was cheap enough, I would think the components could be located.

Ive been looking all over that machine and I cant tell what might be missing. He said the coin mech was all missing. But I thought one could still use the machine. But something fairly major must be missing because I think it would be long gone by now! Wayne have you talked with the guy? I was wondering what he all said to you?

Dude, it still has all the records in there!.... A full cartridge! Can't wait to see what was playing in that machine 1961!

Oh, and Wayne, I found a pic of a working model from the back... May help you tell some of what may be missing besides one of the 12in subwoofers:

Indeed I do Brian...especially when I ask for information and don't get a clear and concise answer. My common sense outweighs my want if you know what I mean. I'm better off just watching cg here and when the right one comes along I'll buy then. Make no mistake... I wanted this one as I like the styling and era. If not for the logistics and uncertainty as to EXACTLY what's missing she'd be mine know what I mean? Smile

Wayne I totally understand what you mean. I think the price was good if the juke was located near you. Then you could have used what you saved there towards the machine and make it a cost effective. Parts can get expensive when it comes to these machines. No matter what type of machine you buy my best advice is always try to find one that has all the mechanical parts. Even some coin mechs can be very difficult to find. Some coin mechs are incorporated into the machine very heavily while others are not as big of a deal.  By the looks of the pictures all the mechanicals looked to have been there minus the coin mech. But pictures as you know never tell the whole story! Wink

You couldn't be more on the money Brian! I'm not a total stranger to jukeboxes. I got the deal of a lifetime for these 2 AMI Continentals. One even had the complete stepper unit. Fortunately there wasn't a nut or bolt missing. These I found local off the beaten path in a garage out in the country. I had heard the old timer had a 58 Plymouth. Turned out to be a 59. I saw these in the back of the garage and after a bit of negotiating I walked away with both for $1250.00

Looks like I spoke to soon. The owner sent me a message with an even better price so I've decided to pull the trigger and buy it! cheers

Of course this wouldn't be possible if not for CCC member Chris' willingness to pick up and house for me until shipping arrangements can be made! (THANK YOU CHRIS!)

I'm looking forward to testing it out and bringing it back!

Wow Chris that's great! I feel incredibly privileged to have a friend and club mate willing to collect my crap! LOL!

I hope your truck (and your back) are no worse for the wear! Did the former owner elaborate as to what he may have done with it? I see in your last picture one part on the ground there. I hope we can figure out where it goes! Smile

Did you plug 'er in yet? Laughing

We survived intact. Smile Scooter was a big help! The part on the floor is the power supply, he removed it because it was loose and didn't want it bouncing around. I haven't tried plugging it in, Brian said it could be detrimental with the unit cold so I'd want to warm it up first. The seller did say that he got it to power up and that it would rotate and lift records but that was the extent of it.

Well I can't thank you enough.. Perhaps its best left to the experts for advice and instruction. If Brian says no then it's NO! Smile

We certainly don't want to do any unnecessary damage. Still, you deserve the chance to do something  with it after all the trouble you've gone through. Maybe we should make a list of the records inside and play the song list on the forum? Smile We'll dedicate it to Chris and Scooter.. Ya know like BJ and the the bear or Snowman and flash! Know what I mean? Smile

Wow Chris! You must of hit the after burners to pick it up! That was quick! LOL.  It sounds like the mechanics of this juke are working..Thats good news for Wayne. Very Happy Now the hunt for the coin mech!
If you have a little milk house heater you could warm it a bit with that. I myself wouldn't plug it in cold. The tubes are the problem when cold, as they warm up condensation can occur inside the tube or tubes and they may pop! Wink
