PostSubject: Saved By Grace   Sun Apr 26, 2015 10:48 pm

Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5).

These two verses are from the Epistle (letter) written by the Apostle Paul in ~62 A.D. to the Christians at the church in Ephesus, located on the west coast of modern day Turkey. The theme of this Epistle may be stated pragmatically as “Christians, get along with each other and practically maintain the unity which Christ has effected positionally by his death.” Or perhaps even more simply put: Give and show grace to one other in the keeping of Christ's church pure and holy.

Grace has consistently ranked high on popular baby girl’s names throughout the years. Why do you suppose this name is so likeable? Could it be the true meaning of grace that receives our approval? That would be a great thing if that was true. To give grace means to bestow benefit or favor to another. The grace of God through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross in payment for our sin was an absolutely incredible benefit to an unworthy people, many of whom would not easily admit their failures and disobedience. God’s grace is provided to all, according to a familiar Bible verse: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). The most important encounter with God that we will ever have is that moment when we acknowledge our sin, accept His provision, and kneel in awed wonder at the feet of Jesus Christ, the Savior. In the very last verse of the Bible, we find this prayer: “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen” (Revelation 22:21). God's grace is always available to whoever is willing to receive it.

Insight: If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, what are you waiting for? God’s grace is available now for you!

Dear Lord, I want to be one of your people and be filled with the saving grace of the Lord Jesus. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
