After the song was posted on the home page.

Not Fade Away by Buddy Holly came out in 1957.
This song was also used in the movie Christine on the assembly line scene where Christine kills the guy who got in Christine after the guy saw Christine's hood close on the other guy's hand.
There is also a remake of Not Fade Away by Buddy Holly, only this time done by Tanya Tucker's version of Not Fade Away in 1978.
Tanya Tucker's version was also used in the movie Christine in the scene right after the assembly line scene with Buddy Holly's version playing- the scene where the movie changes from 1958 to 1978 with Dennis rolling up in his 1968 Dodge Charger to pick up Arnie to go to school.

Not Fade Away by Buddy Holly- 1957.

Not Fade Away by Tanya Tucker- 1978.

I personally like Buddy Holly's version better. Very Happy

Nice to have given you something 'new'. I know this version because my father has the single and I listened it as a kid and recognized the song from Christine! He also has 'Bony Marony' on single. Later we started collecting the singles used in the movie. My favorite is 'I wonder why' from Dion and the belmonts.

Ah, why not, here it is;

Wow!
I didn't know the Rolling Stones did Not Fade Away as well! I like it!
Speaking of the Rolling Stones, they have a song in Christine- its called Beast of Burden from 1978. It was playing on Buddy Repperton's Camaro's radio when Christine was about ready to get them.
Here it is...

A little bit of something extra included in the video-
I will give you a hint- its something that includes Christine. Very Happy

I like oldies too, especially from the 50's! Very Happy
When I was at school at my lunch break, I was playing oldies from my iPod with the speaker on cause my friends I was with also wanted to listen to my music.
It was kind of embarrassing at school cause of all the mean/bratty kids come walking by and either they laugh and giggle or they give you a real hard time poking fun at what kind of music you listen to.

One time it was real funny- so I have the songs from the movie Christine on my iPod as well.
So anyhow, one kid was giving me a real hard time, and then one of the Christine songs came on. I think that scared him away a bit cause he knew what movie the song was from and he was scared of Christine. So I decided to scare him away even more even though this is the part where I lied: I said I have the real Christine car, and you better watch what you say cause my Christine will come after you.
That sure made him go away in a hurry! Very Happy

That's right Brian! Very Happy
If I did give that kid nightmares, it serves him right for badmouthin' my music and Christine. Smile
Oh yeah, he was badmouthin' Christine too. Sad I hate to say it, but he was badmouthin' Christine like "wow what an ugly 50's land yacht, this was the car that made Plymouth go out of business" and on and on and on... That made me very sad even remembering that... Sad

Well its good Jackie you kept your cool and didn't give that kid a one two punch between the eyes! lol. I think the 57s and 58s were some of the most beautiful cars made. The lines they have flow from front to back. And the fins in the back I think Plymouth nailed it! It truly was a nice looking car. But ive heard all about the quality control problems they had in those years. But the demand for them in 57 was so great things like quality control got put on the back burner. It was all about getting them out the door as fast as possible. But theres one thing I will say.. I sure would have loved to been there in 57 watching these cars roll into the dealerships! All the hype and excitement would have been worth it! Wink

I am glad I kept my cool too. I think he would have deserved it though! But I kept my cool. Smile
I agree with you Brian. To me, they are the #1 most beautiful car ever made.
I wish I had seen too these cars when they were brand new from the dealerships.

Actually, speaking of when these cars were brand new...
In my high school, the school kept all of it's old yearbooks. Very old school, it went clear back to the early 50's. But anyhow, I went to look at a '58 yearbook. As I was looking through it, I saw the advertising section. There was a Plymouth ad in it as well. The ad showed the beautiful '58 Plymouth's when they were brand-new. Showed all models too inside the showroom. I even saw a Fury! Very Happy I sure wish I had taken photos of it- but I came back a couple days later into the library and the books were gone cause the library was undergoing painting the walls and stuff like that. Then after that, the librarian never put back up the old yearbooks cause they said they were locked away in storage to protect the old yearbooks...
Makes me kick myself in the rear since I didn't take the photos when I had the chance... Sad

That's not how it was in my high school where that happened...
