In the book, it said a moldy, old and worn Army suit. The book also said he stunk of the grave...

Did he wear anything else while dead? Or mostly the army outfit? I can not remember. Sad

I just can't remember either. Has been a while since I last read the book. I watch the movie more than I read the book. Even though I own both! Laughing

Yep- I think it's time that I read the book again.
Most likely I will read the book when I buy the '58 4-door (book car).
To see just what exactly I have got myself in to. Laughing Nah- just kidding! I love that car! I am not sure if that's a good thing or not though! Laughing

Well the only thing that sticks in my mind was that nasty dirty looking back brace type thing he was wearing in the movie. Is that even what he was wearing?

I don't even remember now what he was wearing in the book now. It has been a while since I last read the book. I watch the movie a lot more than I read the book. Even though I own the book and the movie. I am just not much of a reading-type person.
I hope Kera can answer our question. She says she's reading the book again currently...

Bingo. Found this too. Before Buddy died...

Only it wasn't a man at all; it was a corpse. A rotting corpse in green pants. It was shirtless, but a back brace splotched with grey mould was cinched around its blackening torso. White bone gleamed through the skin stretched across its face.

Very interesting Kera.. Good job on the details! Smile

So is this rotting corpse Lebay? Im assuming so because of this back brace?

I know that I am not Kera, Brian, but I can answer your question too since I have started reading the book again. Smile
The rotting corpse is LeBay, Brian.
I will fill you in on the details...
In the book, LeBay is still alive when LeBay sells Christine to Arnie. LeBay then dies soon after Arnie is the new owner of Christine.
After LeBay has died, Christine then becomes possessed by LeBay's dead evil spirit. It is mentioned in the book then that the ghost of LeBay was the one who drove Christine when Arnie wasn't around.

So Christine was then essentially "haunted" with the ghost of LeBay. Only it was mentioned that the ghost of LeBay had taken form of a corpse- the corpse was dead LeBay.
So to compare the book with the movie- Christine wasn't "born bad" from the start on the assembly line. In the book, Christine became possessed with LeBay's evil spirit when LeBay died.

I hope I made sense here... Smile

Jackie, Thank you very much for clearing that up for me. Smile You made it crystal clear for me. I do need to read the book. I do see the differences now how the car got possessed in the book. Idk why it is I love watching Christine this time of year. But I do think the movie was cleverly done. Makes me wonder what it would have been like it they followed the book all the way.

Thanks again!

You're welcome Brian. I am glad I made sense there... Smile
I also love watching the movie at this time of year as well. I think cause it follows the time of year the movie took place in, remember how it said when the movie flash-forwarded to 1978, it said September of 1978?
Also I love to watch the movie right after I have become "Plymouth drunk" too. Laughing Case in point, right after I 1st saw the '58 Savoy, I came home to watch the movie. Very Happy

Maybe if they did follow the book all the way, maybe more people then would be more interested in owning a 4-door rather than a 2-door? (Book car was a 4-door.)

Wow, that is crazy Brian. Smile
I know I watched the movie when I got Plymouth drunk because I just couldn't get enough of seeing '58 Plymouth's... Smile
Oh wait- that's what being Plymouth drunk is- not being able to get enough of seeing '57/'58 Plymouth's! Laughing
And thank you very much Brian for supporting me in getting my '58. Very Happy I very much appreciate it... Very Happy

Brian.

I wish they used the 4 door too. We know they exsist. Even its its not "true" (insert fancy car talk here.) And to answer the question. I do not see why they never did. Were they hard to get in 1983? Cant be any harder today. Christine sporty look? she is suppose to possess you.. I am lucky if i see one driving. Lol i feel like doing something. But waiting for the how and moment. Wink

Btw that drunkeness is called possession., lol! cheers

I actually like it that they used the 2 door for the movie Christine. So Brian, I agree with you. I do think they used the 2-door cause 2-doors are more sporty looking than the 4-doors. Smile
Even though I like both the 4-doors and the 2-doors... Smile

And Kera, I guess you don't understand what being "Plymouth drunk" means. Brian and I do cause we both have got it...
I will try to explain it to you- it's when you 1st see a '57/'58 Plymouth that you can buy and so you can't stop yourself from buying it.
You will most likely understand in time Kera, that time is when you get ready to buy your own '57/'58 Plymouth...
And being "Plymouth drunk" is different from possession. Possession is when you actually own the car...
