 Danbury Mint: expensive junk

The Danbury Mint has made an extremely detailed Christine that goes for over $200 on eBay but they couldn't even get the car's basic lines right. Look at the angle on the windshield. I give them credit for getting the side inserts right, which most models including mine don't, but still, expensive junk.

My AMT kit, which ended up costing me a lot in supplies and time/labor but probably was still less, has better lines! You can't really tell from this picture but the windshield has the steep slope that a '58 Plymouth should.

Despite all the mistakes I made, using the right shade of red spray paint, getting the roof white, and finding Bare-Metal foil (1,000 times better than silver paint) for the side inserts and windshield and window frames made her a serviceable shelf queen, where the car's basic lines are all that matters.

Yeah, I agree, the amt model looks like a better model of Christine than the Danbury Mint one does... Smile
