Very sad. I've had this truck since 2001 when it was new. I paid it off in 2007 and have been driving it up until a week ago. She was getting rough but I loved not having a car payment. It enabled me to put all my extra $$ into Christine..

It developed a rod knock and had to go. Made no sense to put a motor in her with the rot and other issues. The salt in WNY is like acid and eats through everything. Oh well.. Hit 147k miles! Rock On

It's hard seeing something you've owned since new deteriorate like a daily driver will, that's why I won't buy a new truck, that and the fact I can't afford a new truck! Did you sell it to someone as a project or did it find it's final resting place?

That's too bad, especially since you owned it way back from when it was new. It looked nice from the photo too. Sad

Man,

What a shame Wayne!   147k is just broke in to me.   I usually try to see how far I can drive them.  I've been averaging  200-300k miles out of my used vehicle before major concern lol.  I've never bought a new car.  My dad being a car dealer keeps me supplied.  I like to find them used with 70-80k on them with all the problems fixed lol.  I've been lucky.  Out of 50 or more cars and more than a million miles of driving only one car had a problem.  On my way home from Miami the oil pump went in a dodge caravan with 288k on her.  No oil pumping on the Fla. turnpike she was done.  I sold her to the guy that towed us in and rented a van to get home.  I was happy.  I bought her from dad for 2k a few years before and put over 200k on her.  I sold her for 300 dollars to the tow guy. I think I got $1700 worth of use out of her. I travel so much that it wouldn't make sense for me to buy new, maybe a Prius lol.

Bill

I hear ya Chris & Bill. I traded it in and got $500.00 for it. It was very rough and all the clear coat was gone, not to mention holes all over the place. The 4 wheel drive was acting up just a day before the motor went....

I don't do much long distance driving hence the "low mileage"...

Who knows, maybe when it goes to auction someone will give it a new lease on life. Smile Still, I was able to tow it into the dealership and clean it out. I didn't want to forget all my 8 track tapes!!!! Hee! Hee!

By the sounds of it, the ol' truck didn't owe you anything else Wayne. That's good use out of a vehicle up here in the rust belt. I wish you well with your new ride...

Bob
