PostSubject: Suspension Ride Height: 58 Fury   Wed Jan 10, 2018 7:50 am

Hi CCC,

Happy New Year, 2018.

Front Suspension:
I have just read that the torsion bars on the front suspension of the 1958 Fury are thicker than te other models: 1.09“ versus 1.06“. In fact, 145 lbs is required for each inch of vertical movement in their Fury, versus 125 for all non-Fury models. This significant difference brought the Fury‘s handling into special class!

I know that the Fury front suspension (torsion bars) are adjusted to a lower height than the other cars too.

....Now I need to the front suspension ride height.
Does anyone have this height figure?

Rear Suspension (general info):
The springs, should be 2.5“ wide.
Five (5) leaves are used for all cars - except the Fury, which has six (6) leaves.

The Fury‘s suspension leaves also have less of an arch than the 5 leave alternative - making the car sit lower (lower center of gravity for better handling). The spring rate is 165 lbs. per inch (at the wheel) for the Fury — vs. 130 lbs. per inch for all other cars - a significant difference.

If anyone know the front end (and rear) ride height adjustment number - please let me know.

Thanks,
David

I'd have to check my service manual when I get a chance, but it might be a day cause It's currently not in my same location.

I'd like this info as well. I just assumed it was in the service manual.
