PostSubject: Questions about Christine   Mon Jul 30, 2018 3:14 am

1. Was Christine really dubbed by a 1970 Super Jet Cobra engine?

2. Anyone know how they got the headlights so bright?

A 428 cobra jet engine sounds for her.

The headlights are actually aircraft landing lights.

That's interesting. Do you think that would've been tough to wire in place of the halogen ones?

Do you own a 58 Fury? If so, how different does it sound from the 428 heard in the film?

The lights probably installed easily enough, I'm sure the wiring had to be upgraded to handle them. I don't own a 58 Fury, I have a 57 Belvedere and a 57 Savoy. The Belvedere is the one in my profile pic, but that is a six cylinder car. The Savoy had the poly 301 V8 which I removed in order to transplant into the Belvy. It doesn't really sound like the movie version, but it;s still got the V8 sound.

Alright, so this question isn't really about Christine, but about Furys in general. The photo below are the fins on a '57.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I know '58s also came with gold trim and the "Fury" script, but I've never seen the small chrome decoration on the gas tank door, nor the pieces that cover about 1/4 of the rear wheels on the '58 Furys. Were they available as extra price options?

Yes, a gas door guard and fender skirts were options.

Sweet! I tried finding an options list online in a PDF, but didn't have any luck. I knew you guys would know. Thanks.

The fender skirts are something I've never cared for. My original 58 Belvedere had them, and my 57 Savoy has a set of stainless ones, but I'll never use them.

I agree with you, 57belv. It's very unfortunate that the Forza series has decided to include them on their Fury (which is probably the only Fury I'll ever drive
Smile )

Is this what Christine's key was? I'd like to know so I can use it on a Victor keychain....if I ever find one of those. Not having much luck.

Well that listing says it's for 59-63 cars. I know my 57 key does NOT have the forward look insignia, and I don't believe my 58 did either.

Well, I just looked at the keys for my 57 Belvedere and they appear to be of the same shape. These are replacements as they have the Chrysler corp pentastar logo, but it's quite possible the originals did have the forward look insignia. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I've sent a message to the seller asking if he knows anything about the '58 keys. I'm loving the Victor keychain.

I'm really wishing I had bought a spare now.

I've received a response:

I would like to say yes, but I really don't know. One reference I saw to this key showed it as being for 1959 to 1963 models, so I don't know if it would also apply to 1958. Thanks for your interest
