Hi Gang. Well, Since ive gottem my 58 Belvie, ive put a few hundred miles on her. I call her "Sharlene", Christine was taken, lol. When she gets hot, she puffs smoke out of the breather tube, that runs down to the ground on the passenger side. How can i stop this? its kind of embarrassing when i come to a light, and shes puffin away. Do i need a new breather filter element?

Hiya! So it's smoking heavy? Sounds like blow-by. The rings are probably worn or stuck. I had a similar issue with my '57 301. It was puffin pretty good when she warmed up and when I opened up the motor, sure enough, the rings were badly worn, and a couple were stuck too.

smoking isnt real heavy, just slightly annoying, especially in traffic

It could just be valve seals.
