Bobby, IMO please don't do it. Redsled looks so good the way she is.......

Also is that a 65 Belvy conv in the garage? Oh yes I love them. As you know, I have one as well for racing. (9.47@141mph)

Joe, The reason why I have to put on a scoop I do not haved no carb to hood clearence. I have to have a scoop to make it perform right, This is the best one for it I beleive and I have always liked these teardrop scoops, This will be going on an extra hood so I will have the origenal to put back on if I need to. I would rather for hewr to go faster and perform better. I would rather win a trophy racing then a show trophy. You know how much politics they are into show trophys, buut to win one racing you really have to earn it

Yes that is a 65 Belvedere con oin the shop. It belongs to my wife Eva but I can drive it any time I want. lol! It was a 361 car but I put a 440 in it. It is also a factory Air car. Smile

Ok I understand although I would change the intake and carb to avoid rather thean the performance.

If your wife ever's decides to sell it please call me.

Thanks Matt, Im just glad I have another hood to put it on, I beleive when it is molded in and the lips are hid it will look better, In order the run the ihtakes I want I have to have the clearence, I may be able to run the Edlebrock Victor under the hood . But now having to run an adapter on my str-14 where I can run my square bore 850 no way can I get that under the hood.

The scoop fits flat on the hood excrpt in the very front for a couple of inches it is raised up about 1/4 inch or so. Smile

Matt His hood is fiberglass scoop is already molded with the hoo We will have to mold mine in. Only bad thing about putting fiberglass on metasl they have a real good chance of cracking where they are glassed onh, but a guy has to do what a guy has to Smile do.

Yea Jim, I have never went near that fast in a drag car, Fastest I ever went was in the 10's . He had a really cool Nova that was a much better looking and better Drag car but he blew the engine in it ast Las Vegas a few years back and His business was slow right at the time and he couldn't afford to rebuild the enginwe so he sold it and bought this one. He has done a lot of work on this one. He is such a cool guy. I haven't known him but about 4 years but he is the kind of guy that remembers things others have done to help him out. Not a lot of people like that anyhmore, Mayhbe it is my age and they feel sorry for me anymore. Hee! Hee!

Well Guys I went down to Troys shop to check on my hood. Havent been there for a while on account of a cold. Well that was the first mistake, It started raining cats and dogs and stupid me didn't have any head gear on. Got soaked, Probly didn't help the cold any I was getting over. What a Face Well the Hood had been moved and I didn't see any progress on it, Troy had came back and he had just went after some metal blades to cut the hole with. Came in and I was talking to Lisle and saw him come in and act like I didn't see him and started bad mouthing him for not having it done and blaming him for me not to be able to race the 1st of April. He knew I was kidding because we go on like that to each other all the time. You know ther Mopar Cheby thing Hee! Hee! He offered to loan me the one on his Chevelle. Smile So he said he had to go down and get the fiberglass and materials, so I tolh him I would go get it and pay for it because all I have to pay for is the materials, I have done him several favors to make up for it.

Well here is what It looked like when I first came in.

He came in and showed me the progress he had made. Smile

If you see the line on the outer circle you can tell how big the hole wile be, It is something like 16-17

He started cutting the hole out and then the parts girl came in with a sensor for a BMW he was working on, he said he would try to get some done todasy afer that. That was about ther only job he wanted to get finished and out of the shop today. Well Igot my fingers crossed. Smile

We go on all the time, you know how M0paqr and Cheby guys go on. He was pretty slow when I first took it in and seems like as soon as I took the hood in his bisness picked right up, must be the hood is bringing him good luck.
Im hoping he will get her finished by next week. I think my painter will get right on it. He said he would. but you know how that goes.
Im hopint to go to test and tune Sunday , but I had to order me a NEW HELMENT should have done that sooner, Hoping it will get here by Satujrday. Maybe I can borrow one for the day.
It is stil rainey here, Weather could not permit also. Smile

Went down to Troy's shop this morning and told him I heard a rumer that the hood was done. He laujghjed and said it was a rumer. But he did get the screen in the scoop and the hood all down to bare medal wqhere the scoop is going to be setting on. He said he would try to get her done for me by the end of the week. Smile

Maybe it helped telling him what Jim said Hee! Hee!

I didn't get pictures of the hood he had it leaning in the corner but he pulled it oujt enough for me to see that he had it sdanded down Smile

He had both the Racecars out of the shop today. Smile

Here are some customers cars outside the shiop.
