Well went down to Troys this morning and really surprised, He had Closed his doors, well don't have the shop open on Saturdays and didn't answer his phone and got some work on his car, and got the glass put on my hood, It is still a little sticky on the hood itself bujt arond the scoop it is good and dry. If he keeps on it He should have it done this week and then I hope my painter gets right on iot. I really want it ready by June 2nd, Will be racing the club race3s again the 18th, That is a weeek from Friday. Smile

This is a 57 Hood I haven't decided to put the letters on the front or mold the holes in and just run the big wide aluminum piecde on the bottom of the Hood. What do you think people Smile

looking good bob, i think you should fill in the holes and put the plymouth badge in the center, i dont think it would look right to have the quad headlights and have P L Y M O U T H spelt out on the front. just my opinion and everyone knows about how opinions are

Joe I have thought all three ways, 1 molding the holes in and having it look real custom, No Chrome at all. 2. Put the 57 Letters across 3. Drilling holes and puting the 58 emblem back on. Well I will look at all the options just before I take it to have it painted and drill hole while I have to before paint is put on it. Thanks for your Imput Smile

Well Checkood today and Troy said he felt that he should of let it cure for a couple days or so, Probly for the best, I want it done right if it does take a little more time.

I have been under the 58 for the past couple days putting on my new fuel line. I have it on now . I have been running an Electric racing pump coming close to out of the tank and I was also running my manuel pump. Well I took my manuel pump off and pujt a cover over the hole . I am running more fuel pressure now with the maunel pump off and the 3/8 line.
Maybe the mauuel pump was slowing down the fuel insteasd of helping. Any Input?

Also got everything checked out again underneith, cant look to manyh times. It doesn't hurt to be safe and check everything out and takle a look. Smile

Tomorrow My Line Lock and more checking on the genarator on my motor home. Ist of July is coming up fast Unbeleivable. OLDIE RACES Cool

no you can never be too safe looking underneath your car, im no expert but i believe the manual pump with the electric pump would slow the fuel delivery down. i have heard of an in tank electric pump with a frame mounted electric pump but never manual and electric.

I hate those in tank pumps too, I have worked on around five the past 3 1/2 years, at least the companies should have a panel in the trunk to unscrew & open to work on a fuel pump instead of wasting time taking the whole tank down.

Well Jim Im going down there in a few minutes, Man I hope he gets her done this week, if he does I don'yt think i will even plan on taking a chance of getting it painted before the oldies racxe , I will be going out July First will be there till the 3rd. Car well al the cars were running about a tenth or so slow Friday night Had a big head wind, Never a tail wind Hee! Hee!

On my first rounhde of eliminations , well let me tell you about my first time trial first,. It was my first time ever using a line lock. Well I pull into the burnout box put her in third gear, that is ok that is what gear most of the cars do burnoujts in. Well I pulled into the box, Pushed my brake pedal down hard and then pushed my line lock switch and started my burn out, I didn't get it up to about 3 grand or so. I staged and went down the quarter and I thought scratch You crazzy azz you kept your brake pedal down. Hee! Hee! Well the next time I pushed my brakes down and pushed the line lock switch and released my foort off the brake and it went right up to 500o or so man you know my tires were running fast enough for 100MPH and lots of smoke Hee! Hee!

Well first round of eliminations I got about 3/4 ways down the quarter and my car died down to almost nothing aND THEN IT PICKED BACK UP.

I was Lucky because my oponite broke out by ,002 of a secound, I got back to the pits and opened my gas cap and swoosh my tank was not getting any ventalation. First time that had ever happened , Guess it was the bigger fuel line.

@nd round eliminations I ran with my gas cap loose , car ran great and got beat out by a few thousands of a secound. I just weren' on the lights at all this week , I would take off whenh the last amber light first turned on and still cut maybe a .100 or a little more light.

Car came back home without breaking anything and Eva and I got home safe, so it was a good time. Smile

I know that was a little more then you ask Jim Hee! Hee!

I wonder if your non ventilated cap could have been causing troubles before this?
