Went down to Troys about 1 pm and he was working hard on my hood, He went to lunch and I stayed there for a while and talked to Lyle one of his employees and a guy come in with a Ford Falcoario wanttinhg him to put an exhaust system on it, so he will have to do that before he works on my hood some more. He is going to finish it and put it in a sealer. I have decided I am not going to take a chance of having it in paint before the oldies race.

Paint looks good but I want it to run faster out there , but you know it may not help Im thinking it shouild, You knw tthe sad thing out there, cars can not go faster the 10.20 for the club races and Some of the gujys have to slow them down. Smile

It will be to bare metal before he puts the sealer on it.

Bob, seems you've been getting a lot of wet weather this spring, isn't it rather unusual for your area?

Once we see April, we usually do not get much of any rain until the next October.

No John not too unusual, but starting next month it will be getting hot and wish we would have some. I like rain because it waters my lawn, I do not have sprinklers and have to do the old hose fdrag around trick, Used to have flood loved it.

Thaded labor building an engine once for a guy to do my sprinklers , when I got done he paid me and no sprinklers another time I got oh well you know what. Hee! Hee!

Well Went to the Shop today and Troy was actually working on the hood when i come in. He has been busting his butt for the last three or 4 days, I was very excited because the glass had been smoothed dowm and smoothing out the bondo. I think he is going to try and finish it tonioght and put a coat of sealer on it to keep it from rusting.

I called Isrial my painter and he will be busy and taking Memorial day week end to go to the coast, so I will run it in primer out at the Oldies Race. He will try to get it painted for the Mopar races the following week-end.

I hadn't even ask him what he was going to charge me. I ask him tonight and he said he would do it for 100.00 labor, I have some new Air tools that are spairs so I will give him one of them for a bonus. It is great to have a friend that has talent.

Now I don't know if that includes cutting and buffing but if it son't he will be plenty fair.

I figure the material will cost arond 300.00 mabe 350.00 Paint is not cheap anymore. I can remember when you coulds buy enamel for like 25to 30 dollaes per gallon. :pirat:

Yea Carlos, I don't know if he worked on it anymore last night, he wanted to get it done, His helper will be off today and being at a buisiness by yourself is enouth alone telephone and all. Smile I had my wife to tell Joe and Jason Robersts , they work with Eva to gewt their muscles ready to help me change the hood, I have tro muscle guys to hold it up while I bolt it on. I have a blanket in the back and one on each fender. Smile

Will be running it in primer for the oldies , hope to have it in paint for the Mopar races Following week end Smile Hoping it will help, car has ran slower since changing intakes, but the one I took off was not near as tall. Hope this helps, I have not been doing any tuning or anything untill I get the scoop on. Smile Thinking real hard about having mopre compression in her next year, Would like to have her run mid 12's with out a problem Smile

Well back from Troy's he is moving right along now just a slow starter Hee! Hee! But he will not be able to work on it today because he is down there by himself Smile He has more smoothing out and with the black you can see all the flaws in it. When he gets done he will put a coat of sealer on it. and then it will go to my painter here after the oldies race. Scoop looks taller after a little color on it. Smile

Well Will be going down to the shop after going to Fred Myers and get some Cat Food and check on an IPOD for Eva. She said this morning she would like to have one. She never ask for much. Im one of the Lucky ones, I sort of have to force her so buy somthing sometime.

I have told this story before . I had bought a couple of car parts that cost 5-6 hundred dollars and she never sdaid a thing, They were a good deal on a new Refridirator and I said something about it and she said we don't need no new Refrigerator. lol! Not in to many words. Hee! Hee!

Here is my new Carb adapter where I can put my Pretty manifold on after I get the scoop on, If it performs with in a couple of tenths of the Victor I will leave it on, It is one of them open the hood and wow Intake.

Thank You Crisy, The STR-14 intake has the dominator top on it, I had been looking for a 4150 top for quite some time, If I did get one I would have to have polished it out. so It is good to go from a bigger sized top to a smaller carburator bolt on, then the other wayh arond. It would be from little into big not big into little. Hee! Hee! Hope you arn't confused much. Smile The STR-14 Intake is not one you see on a Mopar every day. I have the only one that is run out at the track,

Now mine came off from a 49 Cheby Hee! Hee! But he had a nice 440 Mopar in it. His wife left him with a lot of bills and a big house payment so he sold it to me. I had my eyes on it for about four years. He couldn't open his hood anymore , Now he does because he had found another one. He always looks under my hood to see if I have it on or not. If not he just swrinks his sholder and leaves. Hee! Hee!
