If you are using a 57 trunk deck with 58 letters. I do not have 57 letters so this is for the 58 letter spacing only. The pins on the letters are offset based on the letter so the spacing is different for each letter. From the left side of your trunk deck measure up 5 5/8 inches. The first letter P is 9 7/8" over from the left. Measure about 10 3/8/" over on the right side of the trunk. Measure up 5 5/8". Draw a straight line from left to right on your 5 5/8 measurements. The reason for this is when I measured my trunk deck the center letters were a little more then 5 5/8". This now gives you a straight line for you square holes. From the left to the right your measurements for each letter are

9 7/8" 14 11/16" 19 5/8" 24 5/16" 29 1/8/" 33 7/8" 38 15/16" 43 1/2"

P L Y M O U T H

Your last hole should come very close to that 10 3/8" mark you made measuring from the right.
All measurements are center of hole.

Jim I used to run my trunk letters where they would say

P-L-U-M-H-O-T-Y

I can remember my friend Gene Mc Cormick back in 63 had a 63 Max Wedge Light Weight and he took the Y off and it said P-L-U-M-H-O-T and that it was It was the fastest car in town and probly the State of Idaho. Smile

Jim do you mean I can't use this with my 57 hood letters? Sad

Doesn't mean you can't use them Chrissy. I am not sure on the size or where on the letters the pin mount is on 57 hood letters. I wrote it that way as I did not want anyone with 57 letters to go drilling holes using my measurements and make a mess of their trunk lid. The measurements would all be the same if the mounting pins were dead center of each letter but on the 58 letters they are not. My measurements were more for someone that is converting a 57 and has the 58 letters . I took all these measurements off my 58 trunk lid.

Gotcha. I was thinking of mounting them on a piece of card board tell they look right and using that for a template. Some of what you put down may still be helpful to me. And diffidently helpful to others needing to do this. Smile Thanks
