Wow wayne the replica the guy made looks amazing im very sure you will be able to do the same with a little scouring but that shouldnt be too difficult considering how hard it is to find parts for our 58s Very Happy

Good point Joe! If you can build a 58 you can surely build a replica Marconi wireless room from TITANIC!!!! LOL

Here's a picture of Ted Sinclair's masterpiece. See the red circled part? It's called a RESISTANCE BOX.

As mentioned Wayne.... give me a shout if I can help with UK electrical components etc.

I've managed to get my hands on a few old bits now and again when needed.

Cheers!

Lee.

Taking a break fro the car has put me in a position to resume my Marconi project. In my research I found an interesting article concerning the recovery of an electrical switch from the Titanic wireless room...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I set out about a month ago searching for this and low and behold I FOUND IT!!!! Total out of pocket? $9.95

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Lee Day for his assistance in acquiring a few items only available in or via the UK. Thanks Lee. Without your help this would be impossible! Smile On their way shortly... brass b22 baten lamp holders for my reproduction of the battery charging board etc!

Thanks Joe. With the cold there isn't much I can do with the car. I have a small area in an unfinished utility room in the basement I have set up for working on this. I'm thinking about taking this in another direction though..... Only time will tell! Smile

A little update! I've been on the lookout for vintage/antique starting rheostats and came across an auction with 3 of them. I threw in a hail mary bid an voila! 3 for $50.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can see from this digital reproduction where they were located.

It sure is Carlos. Most of the things I buy are for parts which will help me bring the vision to reality. Kind of a mad scientist approach but that's how my mind works!  Laughing

Well it looks like your off to a great start! I felt fortunate to visit the Titanic exhibit when it came to St. Paul back in '99 and was present when they blew the actual whistle from the ship. I only wish they had used steam instead of compressed air.
