Thanks Carlos. I didn't know how to do it at all but the book said to use the layers of heavy cotton instead of things like foam rubber for the older cars. The shops must be very busy not to worry about the entire seat. They could take lessons from you and some of the other members on quality.

Very Happy Look at how long the line is getting at my door and I haven't even hung out a shingle yet. Embarassed Kinda expect someone to show up any day and nail one to my house. Hee! Hee!

Thanks Bill! Ya I love the old machine as well. It's a 1957 and I bought it just to do the seats. It's built strong. Very Happy

The sliders were in bad shape so I got a different set from John.... sand blasted and painted with PPB. I haven't attached them to the seats yet because I want to drill holes in my new floor panel's and make sure they work OK.

But Joe Photobucket I love the record you are playing. It's what keeps me moving ahead and not giving up Thanks.

Look forward to Jim getting his seats finished. With his talent they will be perfect and some of this line may move over to his thread. Laughing

Thanks Carlos. I am trying to bring my old thread back up to date so I can add new stuff come spring. The high lights any way.

I don't know if four and two door sliders are the same. Unless there electric they should be. Whats great about this club is someone will know the answer to this and give it. Smile

Photobucket I had to try. Can't take all this pressure.

I practiced with cheap fabric and scrapes before sewing the good fabric. You can do it. You know you want to. Very Happy

Thank you for this fantastic thread, Chrissy. It will help a lot for the work I plan for the upcoming winter. No matter what I will be able do for myself or what will have to be done by an upholsterer of my confidence. Wink

What book did you use I'm gonna have to buy one and do mine or just pay you to do them since Pennsylvania is only your neighbor state unless you live in northern Michigan I could drive my seats there

No that's not what they sent me. I told them I wanted the same tweed as used in the original Christine car. That is a nice fabric but not like Christine's. They have it made and may be out right now.

The book I used is on page one and tells how to do upholstery. No patterns. I never did it before and found it very helpful. The link below is my original thread from the old forum. if you want a sample I could mail it to you. Just PM me your address.
