PostSubject: Help me find my car please!   Wed Oct 17, 2012 4:52 pm

My first car was my great grandmother's '57 Plymouth Plaza. It was a "robin's egg blue" 4-Door, 318, 3-speed with an overdrive. The original dealer plaque read "Robbins Motors" (no relation). My father sold it to the local dealership in Artesia, NM in '92 and they sold it to someone in Grapevine, TX; I have been looking for it for a while. It had a few identifying characteristics that may help someone tell if it's mine:

  • The original tranny had to be swapped with a salvage yard Dodge Truck tranny, so no more overdrive.
There was a custom console built on the tranny hump for a modern stereo so the original tube radio (still working) could stay.
The rear driver tail-light was shattered and missing pieces filled in with foil.
The turn indicator u-shaped actuator was broken and repaired with JB Weld.
The upholstery was redone in the 70s, so it isn't a match for factory.

Here are some photos circa 1990:

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ty Robbins

Good luck. This could be a tough road for you. These cars sometimes end up parked in a garage some place for years. We will keep a eye out for her.

Grapevine is just north of the DFW Airport. You could put an ad on Craigslist- Dallas; WTB 1957 Plymouth and show the pics! Marc.
