1 Corinthians 1:18
New King James Version (NKJV)

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

The message hear is clear. Have you ever noticed how Christians are mocked? Statements like: "Christianity is just another crutch for the weak" or "He's just another one of those Bible thumpers" or "I don't believe in Jesus Christ...He was just another religious fanatic." Whether you have or have not heard statements like these, they are prevalent in our society and all around the globe. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. Perishing? Yes...to put this in plain english, it means: Perishing spiritually - on their way to an eternity separate from God. In John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. and John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For those who believe in Christ and the cross He bore, it is the power of God. Christians have the power of God...simply by the fact that they've been called by God. Called by God to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ as being the ultimate sacrifice and the payment for their sins. We are here to be the power of God by praying, witnessing and loving a lost and dying world. Is the message of the cross foolishness to you...or is it the power of God?

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
