PostSubject: Power Steering retrofitting?   Thu Feb 21, 2013 8:02 pm

Hi all,

I happen to have the opportunity to buy a '58 Plymouth which has no power steering. As I am a newbie, but once have driven a Fury with Power Steering which I loved very much, here is my question: Is it possible to retrofit power steering to a 58 Plymouth that came with none? Are the parts still available, and is it difficult to build them in?

Worse, I live in Europe. So, any advice is welcome.

Thank you very much!

Peter

Hi and welcome to the CCC!

You can covert to power steering however you will need a Pwr Strg column and Box as well as the Pump and lines. This can be bought from Members John "Big M" and Jeff Nichols "fast59desoto". Send them a PM and you will have your Pwr Strg.

Good luck.

Thank you very much! This tells me that a car with no power steering is no reason not to buy! Much appreciated. Will let you know when the demand gets urgent :-)

Thanks again
