THEY WERE 'HOTSHOTS,' proud members of an elite, Arizona firefighting unit specially trained to do battle against the worst wildfires imaginable. Then on Sunday, the worst happened — caught in the middle of a raging inferno about 85 miles northwest of Phoenix, surrounded by flames and nowhere to run, they sought refuge under fireproof tents carried on their backs, to be used as a last resort — by the time they were found, 18 Hotshots and another firefighter were dead, the largest loss of firefighters since September 11.

Please pray for the fellow firefighters, friends and families of the 19 firefighters that died fighting the Arizona wild fires yesterday.

Dear Heavenly Father, We lift up to You; the fellow firefighters, friends and families of the 19 elite firefighting unit who lost their lives yesterday in the Arizona wild fires. Please Lord...wrap your loving arms around them, comfort them with your unconditional love and draw them closer to You. Please make Yourself obvious to them as they endure this tremendous loss of life. I pray we would all come to a realization of how precious life is, how fragile each of our own lives are...from this tragic loss. We too, need to take this very seriously so we will feel the urgent need to humbly come before You with our hearts and lives to accept Your free gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ before the day that we stand face to face with You. Please make the cares of this world fade away and the the things of Your Kingdom grow more and more real to us...and hear our prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
