PostSubject: The Battle Is Won, But The War Is Not Over...Yet   Thu Jan 16, 2014 1:26 pm

Abide in Him, that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming. 1 John: 2:28

It's been almost 2000 years ago now...that Jesus Christ won the decisive battle against sin and Satan, through His death on the cross and His resurrection 3 days later. Satan did his best to defeat God's plans, but he could not win against God's overwhelming power.

Yet even to this very day, the war continues, for although Satan is a defeated foe, he is still alive and does everything he can to block God's work. He's still tricking the multitudes into thinking that "all there is to life is the hear and now." He's still working overtime, making us believe the lies that material possessions, premarital/extramarital sex, fame and fortune are the keys to happiness. We have all fallen for these lies...trying to fill "the hole" in our hearts with these things...and more, only to realize afterwards that the hole is still there. That's because all our hearts have a "God shaped hole" and only Jesus Christ can adequately fill it.

But when Christ comes again the war will be over. His victory over evil will be complete and He will usher in an age in which sin and death will no longer rule. Cruelty and suffering will no longer exist.

For you that believe in and follow Jesus Christ, the future is assured. Tomorrow belongs to you! You await the distant trumpet sound announcing the coming of Jesus Christ. In the meantime, let nothing discourage you. Keep your eyes on the Prince of Peace; Jesus, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.

Insight: Live each day as if He were coming tomorrow. After all He might!

Dear Lord God, Thank you for this promise...Help me to live each day like Jesus is coming any moment. In His Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
