If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:15-17

During His lifetime on earth, Christ's presence could be experienced only by a small group of people at any given time. Now Christ dwells through the Spirit in the hearts of all who have received Him as Savior and Lord. The apostle Paul wrote to believers, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" 1 Corinthians 3:16

The Holy Spirit is given to every true believer--not for a limited time, but forever. If He left us for one moment, we would be in deep trouble but thanks be to God, He doesn't! He is there to give you both the gifts and the power to work for Christ. He is there to give you strength in the moment of temptation. He is there to point you to Christ in every situation you go through. He is there to produce in you "fruit" "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control" Galatians 5:22-23

Insight: If you have truly received Christ as your Savior and Lord, You will never have more of the Holy Spirit than you do right now...but the real question is: Will He have more of you?

Prayer: Dear Father God, Thank you for Your gift of the Holy Spirit upon all believers and followers of Jesus Christ. I pray more will come to You this day perhaps through what they just read here in this devotion. I know I am personally holding back some of myself from You and I am sorry. Please help me to yield to You more so that I may produce more "fruit" for Your glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
