The message of Easter is the central focus of Christianity. In fact, you'll hear many Christians refer to this special day as "Resurrection Sunday". And rightly so, because the resurrection of Jesus Christ is vital to our faith and all our hope rests in and on this truth.
The apostle Paul said, "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins" 1 Corinthians 15:17. It is as simple as that! If Jesus Christ is still dead, then He cannot be our Savior for He was not the Son of God and He died like all men. More than that, Heaven's doors are still locked!
But if Jesus Christ is risen as the scriptures teach and as hundreds of eye witnesses testified (none of whom ever recanted that testimony despite threats and death for many of them), then we have the ultimate hope of humanity--eternal life beyond the grave.
Insight: What does Easter mean to you? It should mean absolutely everything because Jesus Christ has conquered death. His death and resurrection offers you the same promise if you'd believe in Him and trust in Him for your salvation and for the forgiveness of your sins. The death rate among humans is still 100%. Wouldn't you like to know where you're going when you die....without a shadow of a doubt?
Prayer: Dear Lord God, Thank you for the gift of eternal life through the finished work of Jesus' shed blood on the cross at Calvary. Please increase my faith and make me a grateful child of yours through a sincere belief in your salvation plan. Give me an intense desire to read it for myself in your Holy Bible. For Romans 10:17 states: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12
