For all you guys looking for the perforated hardboard material I've found a seller! The hole pattern is a little larger than original but this stuff should work nicely.  I bought it from R.E.M Automotive Inc.  in Annville PA. and their number is 1-800-736-2891. It comes in a 48"x 66" sheet but they cut mine in half to save shipping costs so now I have 2 sheets that are 24"x 66" which leaves me just enough to make a new center panel and have a spare in case I screw up the first one.

I hope so, it's been a pain trying to locate this stuff. I do have a question about installation, does the headliner go in behind the windshield and rear window trim or is it suppose to just butt up against it?

Wow...fantastic find Chris!! I believe you are the first to ever come up with a replacement for the perfed headliner...Is the thickness comparable as well? To answer your question...I'm pretty sure you should cut it "longer" so that it fits up under the front/rear window mouldings. The moldings will hold it (up) and in place, otherwise it will eventually sag there.

Bob

PS...I bet that perfed wood will really suck up the paint...you probably want to prime it first...perhaps use some kilz primer on it too to prevent bleeding? You'll want to keep the holes clear too...may be labor intensive to poke them through with a nail (as necessary) during the painting process as well. Just some food for thought?

Thanks guys! To answer your question Bob, It looks to be comparable thickness to the original headliner remnants I found at Rhoners, unfortunately I have no way of knowing if the factory one has swelled from moisture over the years but if it has not, then it looks like the new stuff will work.

It should be okay just painting it, my concern with the original piece being swollen from moisture was due to it laying in an open car exposed to the elements for years.

oh, i was thinking it was from the temperature changes of the roof metal getting hot and cold but open windows makes more sense
