PostSubject: Help needed with fuel sending unit   Thu Jul 03, 2014 3:49 pm

Pulled my fuel tank to replace non working sending unit and leaky tank. I'm also installing a new 493 engine and will need more fuel than the stock 5/16 diameter fuel line on the new sender. My old sending unit was modified with some 1/2" copper pipe and some creative soldering. Does anyone know if a sending unit with either a 3/8 or 1/2" line is available? 1.jpg]https://2img.net/h/i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb270/goat19642004/imagejpg1-1.jpg[/url]

If the plate part of the sending unit is still in good shape, you can take it to a good radiator shop and they can soldier in a steel tube of what ever size you need.

If you were in the Buffalo area, I'd recommend Amherst Radiator. They have done ones for me before.

Sorry, it's for my 57. Been looking online for a stock sender with a larger fuel line and no go. Might have to find a local shop to solder a new line in place.
