We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:20

In this short scripture verse above, the Apostle Paul was writing to the early believers in Corinth, Greece reminding them "who they were in Christ". This message, though nearly 2000 years old now, is still extremely appropriate for us live by! Have you ever wondered what your purpose is here on this earth? This is exactly what God wants for each of us: to be His Son's ambassador. There are countless ways to do is just one.

Ludmilla is a widow in Prague, Czech Republic, who survived the Nazi and Communist occupations and realized that what Jesus said is true: "My kingdom is not of this world" John 18:36. So she had a brass sign made like she saw on the many embassies in the city, hers engraved with the words, "Embassy of the Kingdom of Heaven." With prayer she hung it beside the front door of her home. People began to show up. She welcomed each one in the name of Jesus and then ministered to their needs by listening, praying and, as the Holy Spirit led, advising.

Ludmilla, a devoted Christian, sees herself as an ambassador of the kingdom of heaven. She's turned her house into an embassy, representing not an earthly nation, but the kingdom of God where King Jesus reigns. Just imagine if there were more people like Ludmilla in this world. Would there be widespread genocide in Iraq as ISIS brutally wants to take over that country? How about commercial jetliners being shot out of the sky in the Ukraine with 300 people aboard? Would there be a horrific war raging between Israel and Hamas with innocent people and children being killed? Would there be strife in our families and disputes in our personal relationships over trivial matters?

Insight: Isn't Ludmilla doing what all followers of Christ should be doing - representing heaven's interest on earth? She advertises the fact that she is part of the greatest kingdom imaginable, the kingdom of heaven! Her home is in Prague, but her citizenship is in Christ's kingdom. Where is your citizenship?

Prayer: King Jesus, Make me an ambassador of Your kingdom today, Your kingdom that stretches from heaven to earth...and it's in Your Name I pray, Amen.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

What a wonderfully inspiring story. Imagine that...a woman who survived through two of the most evil empires to ever exist here on earth who opens an "embassy" to promote Christ's kingdom. Doesn't get much better than that! Smile

"We'll make it better ha? Can't hurt us anymore. Not if we work together. We'll show those shitters what we can do."
