And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. 1 JOHN 4:21

The Apostle Paul addressed the Philippian believers as "God's holy people in Christ Jesus"... Philippians 1:1. How true! As true followers of Jesus Christ, we are indeed, citizens of heaven, but right now we're still citizens on the earth. We must be careful that we do not flee from our obligation to serve in the kingdoms of this world.

Jesus encouraged His followers to witness to the goodness of God in the kingdoms that are about to pass away by serving the outcasts, healing the sick, binding up the wounds that Satan inflicts. By doing such deeds of love, the followers of Jesus reveal the love of the Father in heaven that seeks to save that which is lost.

While serving God in the midst of the kingdoms of this world, the citizens of the kingdom of heaven lovingly extend an invitation to all to come to Jesus, believe in Him and so enter into the glorious kingdom of heaven. It is God's plan that those in His kingdom "rub shoulders" with all that are around us, working to show God's boundless love. In this way, the kingdom expands and encircles the earth.

Insight: Have you ever heard someone say?..."There's two things that people should keep to themselves...Politics and Religion". Well, I won't comment on politics, but if we keep our religion (more appropriately...our relationship with God) to ourselves, we are ignoring what God says to us in the Bible. We are to spread God's good news that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior...and that He died to save lost sinners from an eternal life in hell. However, we must be saved before we can begin to tell others. Have you received Jesus Christ as your Savior?

Dear Lord...I pray that these devotions, posted twice/week here at the CCC glorify You and that they serve as a true reminder to us how much Christ loves us and how much we should follow His example to love one another. I pray they will be used to further Your kingdom here on earth. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
