In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by his Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through Whom also He made the universe. Hebrews 1:1-2

Clearly we live in an information and technological age with all its wonders. When my wife and I were in Costa Rica on a mission trip, we kept in touch with our family through phone and internet, easing the loneliness and lessening the distance between us. For our mothers though, a cell phone and computer were far too complex, yet they had the gift of keeping in touch too. We received cards from them both to bring a smile to each of our faces. Two extremes, but the same theme though: "Communicating to those we love...just how much we love them."

That’s what Jesus has done for us, communicating through His life and His death how much He loves us. He loved us so much that He willingly died for us...He paid for our sins on the cross at Calvary nearly 2000 years ago. How do we know He is a grace-giver, life-giver, salvation-giver? Because He left each one of us a love letter in the form of the Holy Bible. In it we can read all about the abundant love He has for us.

Both your USPS mail and your e-mail has letters for you from friends and family saying hello. As you read and enjoy those letters, remember that the communication God has made with us through His Son, Jesus is the most important “letter” we will ever receive.

INSIGHT: Through Creation, the Prophets, His Word and His Son, God has given us the clear, unmistakable message of His redeeming, restoring love. Have you received His love? For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

Dear Lord, Help me to take this message seriously. Life is is full of things to do. I do not take the time I should to consider the love You have for me...through Your Son Jesus. I want to consider Your love...and receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior and follow Him from now on. Thank you...In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
