Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." JOHN 20:27

Jesus' disciples could hardly believe He'd really risen from the dead. Even when He appeared to them after the resurrection and stood in their midst, they "supposed they had seen a spirit" (Luke 24:37). Despite so much evidence, the apostle, Thomas wouldn't believe unless he saw, heard and handled Jesus for himself. Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” John 20:24-25

How prone we are to unbelief too! How often our hearts turn hard and cold, unwilling to believe the good news of Jesus Christ. Even as Bible believing Christians, the sin of this world, our own flesh and the devil will cause doubt to grow in our hearts. Thankfully, we have the eyewitness testimony of the apostles. Here are just a few of them. just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the Word. Luke 1:2. until the day He was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles He had chosen. 3 After His suffering, He presented Himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the Kingdom of God. Acts 1:2-3.  For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 2 Peter 1:16. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The Life appeared; we have seen It and testify to It, and we proclaim to you the Eternal Life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:1-3.

And even better yet, if we have received Christ as our Savior, we have the ever present Witness; the Holy Spirit of Christ comes into our midst every time we gather for public worship or fellowship with other believers. He will draw near to us! [color=#ff0000"for where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”[/color] Matthew 18:20

Insight: Do you find it hard to believe that Jesus is risen indeed? Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29  Have you been blessed?

Prayer: Dear Lord, Help me to have more faith...give me the desire to seek You more and more each day that You lovingly bless me with. I love You and need You in my life and I want to always believe that You have risen indeed! In Jesus' Name Amen.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
