PostSubject: Ears to Hear   Thu Apr 30, 2015 10:34 am

"He who has ears, let him hear." Matthew 11:15; 13:9; 13:43

When Jesus walked the earth He turned jars of water into wine. He calmed the raging sea and walked on the water. He cast out demons, healed lepers and made the paralytic walk again. He raised Lazarus from the dead. These may not be the sort of wonders we see these days, but God is still in the business of working miracles.

I have witnessed God's transforming power in the hearts and lives of His people. I have experienced His transforming power in myself! Often I am stunned at the means He will use to draw His children close to Him.

Years ago, after he suffered a stroke, my father could speak only haltingly. I let him know how badly I felt for his losses, but in his passionate, labored speech, he said, "It's the best thing that could have happened to me." I said, "But why?" And he answered, "Because it's forced me to listen." He was excited to learn and gain wisdom that he might have ignored in the past.

A life long Catholic, my dad asked Jesus Christ to come into his heart and save him after he suffered this stroke...just a few years before he left this earth. He said "all those years of going to church I never fully understood why Jesus had to die on the cross." All of this changed as he was forced to slow down and be still before the Lord. After 75 years, he finally understood that Christ died for his sins. The Bible tells us eight times, "He who has ears, let him hear." I'm so glad I've heard...and that my dad heard too.

We all have the ability to listen. Let's not miss the teachings in God's Word written just for us...or the miracles He orchestrates daily right before our eyes.

Insight: Look and listen carefully; You may be able to discern where God is working miracles...even today.

Dear Lord, Help me to have "ears to hear." In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
