PostSubject: The God Man   Wed Dec 30, 2015 10:55 pm

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Stop! Go back and re-read our key verse for today. If you have have already made the decision to receive Christ as your Savior, if you are the recipient of His forgiveness and a follower of His teaching, take time to focus on each phrase of this verse. What those few words communicate is of huge importance.

The only way that we are able to have the relationship with God that we do is because Jesus Christ, the living Word, surrendered Himself to enter human flesh with all its frailties and finiteness, knowing full well what coming as God Almighty in human likeness would entail. No wonder He is called "man of sorrows." Yes, He was fully God, but He was also fully man, and with humanity comes sorrow.

God confining Himself to a human body was an act of unparalleled love. Jesus sacrificed the glories of heaven to become like us and to endure death for our sake. His was the ultimate and only appropriate sacrificial payment God would accept for the sins of the world. What an almost incomprehensible wonder! That's why we celebrated Christmas a few days ago. Let's continue to celebrate throughout the year and our lives!

Insight: It took a perfect human being to pay sin's debt... only the God-Man, Jesus Christ, could have accomplished it.

Dear Lord, Help me to grasp what You have done for me. Help me to realize the huge importance of being forgiven by what Jesus Christ, the God-Man has done for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
