And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

How can I know God’s will for my life? Followers of Christ pose this question endlessly. The deep cry of our hearts is to know that we are in the center of His plan for us, not wanting to waste a minute of our faith journey in self-powered pursuits. Paul gives us direct advice: we have to change our pattern of thinking. We can no longer permit the world to shape our opinions, conduct, and ideals. The Holy Spirit must be allowed to renew and transform the way we think from the self-centeredness birthed in original sin to a God-centeredness birthed in love for our Savior.

Our minds need cleansing and a complete reversal from egocentric motivations and secularism. Unless we spend time in God’s presence, time in the pages of Scripture prayerfully seeking the Spirit’s insight as we study, we are still woefully culture drenched. Our minds need to be remolded, reshaped, and fashioned with concern for the holy, the pure, the lovely, the noble, the excellent, and the praiseworthy.  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

Insight: To discover God’s will for our lives sometimes requires laying down self focus as a pleasing sacrifice to our Lord.

Reader's Prayer: Dear God, Please help me to seek Your will for my life and lay down the natural self-seeking will of my own. In Jesus' Name, Amen

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11-12 cheers
